DR. JERRY BARNARD
Founding Pastor and Bishop of Horizon Church Dr. Jerry Barnard is a minister’s son. He attended seminary in Atlanta, Georgia and university in St. Louis, Missouri. He pioneered and pastored two churches in California and is now Bishop of Horizon Church Daytona Beach, Florida which he pioneered in 2001. Pastor Barnard commemorated 50 years as an ordained minister in 2007; his wife Sandi has been his faithful partner in ministry all those years. Jerry is a founding programmer of TBN. In the ‘70’s Jerry was a frequent guest at the studios on Dyer Road. He and his wife, Sandi were weekly hosts of TBN’s “Praise the Lord” program for over 15 years. Paul & Jan Crouch encouraged the Barnard’s who founded Christian Communications Network in 1975, broadcasting 24/7 for 15 years to the greater San Diego metropolis. Jerry was General Manager of CCN and Anchor of the daily program. Founder Pastor of Christian Faith Centre, San Diego established in 1972; Dr. Barnard left the church of over 2,000 adults in 1994 to minister in such war torn nations as Cambodia, Vietnam, Kosovo and Serbia. His youngest son Steve Barnard was Pastor there 11 years. The church continues to flourish under a new name. The church established 1961 in Sacramento, California also continues with a new pastor. Jerry began television ministry in the 1950’s; today his programs continue to reach millions around the world.
A missionary revivalist, he has personally ministered on 6 continents in over 45 nations where he has established churches, schools and orphanages. Anointed song stylist with numerous recordings; author of ten books; Bishop Barnard is ‘father in the faith’ to ministers. It is no wonder that he is often referred to by his peers as ‘Mr. Integrity’ and thought of by TV partners as ‘Mr. Pentecost’ – “It’s Real!”
